Closing and Reopening Spaces
Space is the new name for the board.
Welcome to the KanBo 3.0 release!
In this article:
Overview
If a space is no longer needed, you can close it. Closed spaces aren’t accessible to the space members and visitors, but all data remains intact. You can reopen a space if needed.
Only space owners can see and open the closed space.
To see spaces that are closed:
- On the Sidebar, select
Workspaces and Spaces.
- Select the workspace.
Spaces that are closed are listed in the Closed spaces field.
Example: Closed spaces on the Workspace dashboard.
What can space owners do in closed spaces?
- Create, modify, and delete personal space views
- Add and remove bookmarks
- Follow and unfollow cards
- Modify and delete reminders
- Change space access and permissions
- Modify and delete space documents
- Reopen the space

Example: Closed spaces are marked with the orange stripes.
Closing spaces
Only space owners can close the space.
To close a space:
- Open the space.
- On the space top bar, go to More (the three-dots menu), and then select
Settings >
General.
- Select the orange button Close space.

- Select Close space to confirm your action.
Reopening spaces
Only space owners can reopen the space.
To reopen a space:
- On the Sidebar, select
Workspaces & Spaces.
- Select the workspace.
- Go to the Closed spaces field.
- On the selected space, go to More (the three-dots menu), and then select Reopen space.

FAQ
Who can reopen the space in case the sole owner has a deactivated account?
In this situation, the new owner of the space becomes the person who deactivated the previous owner, and it is that person who can reopen the space.
