Notifying KanBo Users in Microsoft Teams
This article is directed to users of cloud environments.
In this article:
Overview
KanBo’s notification system is fully customizable. Among other things, there is an option to mute notifications. If the user has this setting enabled, it may be difficult to contact them in real-time. In such a situation, if something important happens and you want to alert a particular user, @mentions may not be enough.
In this case, we recommend using the “Notify in Teams” option. This option increases the likelihood that a user’s attention will be quickly drawn to a task in KanBo.
Please respect the rules of communication hygiene and do not abuse this option.
Notifying users in Teams
In order to use these features, your administrator will need to install the KanBo Teams app.
To notify a user in Microsoft Teams:
- From any card in KanBo, select the user’s avatar, and then select Notify in Teams.
- Optionally enter the message.
- Select Send.
The confirmation of the sent notification appears in the card activity stream along with the content of the written message.
Now we just have to keep our fingers crossed that the user responds quickly to the notification.
Receiving a notification from KanBo in Microsoft Teams
Simultaneously, a notification appears in the Teams application. The notification in Teams includes the name of the card to which it refers and the space in which it is located.
Example: The notification from Alexander Kaiser referred to the Picnic Lectures card in the Green Week space.
When you click a notification, the KanBo app opens within the Teams app, along with the card the notification applies to.
Example: The KanBo application is opened within the Microsoft Teams application.
