Related Cards
In this article:
Overview
Related cards are the least obliging type of card relations. Two cards connected by such a relation have no time-dependent ties between them.
Related cards allow you to make loose connections between cards, saving cards that relate to your task in some way but are not dependent on each other. Such connections form spontaneously when you mention a card in the comment, note, or a to-do list in the current card.
The related cards icon indicates a link, because pasting links to cards creates these relations:
related cards

Example: A card mentioned in a comment automatically becomes a related card.
Information about related cards can be found in the top bar of the card. There we can see and visit all related cards, as well as add or delete such relations.

Example: The Programme card has one related card which is named Hang up posters.
The top tab bar is the only place where you can preview related cards. They do not appear in the Subwork tab, nor in any space view. You can even choose whether the connection should be bi-directional. That is, you can also link a card using the related card relation only from the perspective of the current card. You decide whether the relationship is visible in both cards.*

If the related card is in another space, you can use the mirror card option to have it in your space.
Adding related cards
Adding related cards is done automatically when mentioning anywhere in the card. However, you can also add this relationship manually.
To add related card to a card:
- Open the card.
- On the card top bar, select the
Related card icon.
- Select + Add related card.
- Search for the existing card you want to add (you can limit your search to the space the current card is located).
- Select the card, and confirm your choice with the Add related card button.
Removing related cards
To remove related card from a card:
- Open the card.
- On the card top bar, select the
Related card icon.
- On the selected card, go to More (the three-dots menu).
- Select
Remove relation.
If the relation was bi-directional, you must decide whether you want to remove the relation entirely or change it to one-directional. In the pop-up window, you must select whether you are removing both relations or just one of them.*
