My Resources
This feature is currently in the beta testing phase and is only available to a limited number of users.
In this article:
Overview
The My Resources section is a part of the Resource Management module. Each resource has a direct manager who is responsible for scheduling its time. Resource managers can monitor their resources in the My Resources section.
The My Resources section displays all of the resources that you are assigned to manage.
Example: The My Resources section with the Resources view.
Here the manager can see allocations displayed on the timeline. The My Resources section also displays notifications of incoming requests to allocate resources to spaces. The manager can accept, partially accept, or reject such a request.
Learn more about the resource managers.
In the My Resources section, we have two views available: Resources view and Utilization view. These show the number of hours allocated to space and their relation to the work schedule.
Notifications
Resource managers get notifications when there is a request related to allocating their resources to a space. These notifications go to the Resource Management module. After entering the notification, the resource manager must make a decision on the allocation request.
Example: Notifications are displayed next to the Resource Management module icon on the Sidebar.
Allocation requests
Allocation request displays when you select the notification. It contains information about the date and time when the resource is needed in the specific space. The role of the resource manager is to determine if such an allocation is possible and to make a decision to accept or reject it.
Example: Allocation request needs to be accepted, partially accepted, or declined.
To make a decision on allocation:
- At the bottom of an allocation, select Accept, Partially accept, or Decline.
Resources view
The first of the possible views in the My Resources section is the Resource view. This is a calendar-style view, where allocations are marked as time slots. The total number of allocated hours for each day for each resource is displayed here.
To open the My Resources section and create a Resources view:
- On the Sidebar, go to
Resource Management, and then select My Resources. - To create the Resources view: on the top bar, select the arrow pointing down, and then select + Add view > Resources > Add.
Example: If your resources have no allocations to spaces, each day will display 0 hours.
You can create multiple views of this type that differ in display settings.
Utilization view
The Utilization view is a more detailed view of the schedule of the resources. This view simultaneously takes into account resource allocations in space and its work schedule. Each cell illustrates the ratio of work hours allocated to spaces to work hours resulting from the work schedule on a particular day.
To open the My Resources section and create an Utilization view:
- On the Sidebar, go to
Resource Management, and then select My Resources. - To create the Resources view: on the top bar, select the arrow pointing down, and then select + Add view > Utilization > Add.
Example: The My Resources section with an Utilization view.
You can create multiple views of this type that differ in display settings.
Adjusting My Resources views
Both the Resources and Utilization views have extensive options for customizing the displayed content. You can use a number of filtering options, including the type of allocation, its status, the type of resource, etc.
Also, note the option to change the scale from daily to weekly or monthly. Customize the KanBo Resource Management module to fit your workflow.
