Licensing of the Resource Management Module
In this article:
Overview
KanBo licenses are designed to provide progressively more advanced functionality. Each tier builds on the previous one, adding features that support increasing levels of resource planning and management sophistication. There are six license types in KanBo, but only three of them include the Resource Management module.
Note that the KanBo license is assigned to the user. This means that different users within your organization may have different licenses.
Licence types with the Resource Management module:
• Business License – only basic RM features
• Enterprise License – basic and mid-level RM features
• Strategic License – all RM features
See how KanBo licenses differ in the availability of Resource Management features.

What you can do:
- Time Tracking
– Log and track time spent on tasks or projects.
– Generate basic operational time reports.
What you cannot do:
- Approvals
– No approval workflows are available under the Business license. - Workload Views
– You won’t have access to insights into resource distribution or bottlenecks. - Resource allocation
– No allocation features. - Strategic Tools
– Advanced planning tools such as soft allocations or scheduling assistants are
unavailable. - Resource base data management
– Cannot manage base data of resources (e.g., skills, job roles, work schedules). - Advanced Features
– No access to dashboards, portfolio management, or scenario planning.
Enterprise License
The Enterprise license provides advanced control over human and non-human resources, allowing for workload visibility and card-level task allocations. It is well-suited for teams that need mid-level planning, but do not require strategic resource management or unit-based allocations.
