Overview

Resources are assigned to organizational units. Organizational unit resources are controlled by the manager of a organizational unit. Accordingly, the organizational unit manager can add users, teams, equipment, and materials to organizational units.

Only organizational unit managers can view and manage the data of resources assigned to that organizational unit.

Organizational unit managers can navigate through the Basedata section. Here, they can add and edit the details of the organizational unit resources.

Example: There is a drop-down menu in the Resources section because a single KanBo user can be a manager of many organizational units at the same time.

Assigning managers to organizational units

You need the Basedata Administrator role to edit the organizational unit basedata.

To assign a manager to a organizational unit:

  1. On the Sidebar, select  Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Organizational units.
  4. On the resource, select  Edit.
  5. On the Managers section, select the user icon , and then select a user.
  6. Select Save.

Removing managers from organizational units

You need the Basedata Administrator role to edit the organizational unit basedata.

You cannot remove managers from a organizational unit if they are still managing resources for the organizational unit you want to remove them from.

To remove a manager from a organizational unit:

  1. On the Sidebar, select  Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Organizational units.
  4. On the resource, select  Edit.
  5. On the Managers section, select the manager and then select Remove.
  6. Select Save.
