Skills
In this article:
Overview
Skills can be assigned to resources along with experience levels. Accurately described skills allow for efficient resource deployment. Resources can have multiple skills assigned to them at the same time.
Example: The Skills view in the Resource Management module.
You can add any number of levels of a skill, such as basic, intermediate, and advanced.
Creating skills
You need the Enterprise/Strategic KanBo license and the Resource Admin role to create a skill.
To create a skill:
- On the Sidebar, select
Resource Management.
- Go to Basedata settings.
- From the menu on the left, select Skills.
- Select + Add new skill.
- Enter the name.
- Enter the description (optional).
- To add skill levels (if needed), select + Add new skill level.
- Type the name and the factor, and then select Add.
- Confirm using the Add skill button.
Example: The details of the Microsoft Office skill.
Adding skills to resources
You must have the Enterprise/Strategic KanBo license, the Human/Non-Human Resource Manager role, and be the subsidiary manager to add leave time types to add a skill to a resource.
To add a skill to a resource:
- On the Sidebar, select
Resource Management.
- Go to Basedata settings.
- From the menu on the left, select Resources.
- On the selected resource, go to
Details.
- On the Skills section, select + Add new skill.
- Select the skill from the list, next select the skill level, and then select Add.
- Confirm changes with the Save button.
Example: Adding the Microsoft Office skill to the resource.
Editing skills
You need the Enterprise/Strategic KanBo license and the Resource Admin role to edit a skill.
You can edit a skill at any time.
To edit a skill:
- On the Sidebar, select
Resource Management.
- Go to Basedata settings.
- From the menu on the left, select Skills.
- On the selected skill, go to
Details.
- Make changes.
- Confirm using the Save button.
Deleting skills
You need the Enterprise/Strategic KanBo license and the Resource Admin role to delete a skill.
To delete a skill:
- On the Sidebar, select
Resource Management.
- Go to Basedata settings.
- From the menu on the left, select Skills.
- On the selected skill, go to
Delete.
