Overview

Skills can be assigned to resources along with experience levels. Accurately described skills allow for efficient resource deployment. Resources can have multiple skills assigned to them at the same time.

Example: The Skills view in the Resource Management module.

You can add any number of levels of a skill, such as basic, intermediate, and advanced.

Creating skills

You need the Basedata Administrator role to create a skill.

To create a skill:

  1. On the Sidebar, select Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Skills.
  4. Select + Create new skill.
  5. Enter the name.
  6. Enter the description (optional).
  7. To add skill levels (if needed), select + Add new skill level.
  8. Type the name and the factor, and then select Save
  9. Confirm by selecting the Create skill button.

Assigning skills to resources

You need the Human/Physical Resource Manager role, and be the organizational unit manager to add leave time types to add a skill to a resource.

To assign a skill to a resource:

  1. On the Sidebar, select Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Resources.
  4. On the selected resource, go to Edit.
  5. In the Skills tab, select + Assign new skill.
  6. Select the skill from the list, next select the skill level, and then select Save.
  7. Confirm changes with the Save button.

Editing skills

You need the Basedata Administrator role to edit a skill.

You can edit a skill at any time.

To edit a skill:

  1. On the Sidebar, select Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Skills.
  4. On the selected skill, go to Edit.
  5. Make changes.
  6. Confirm using the Save button.

Deleting skills

You need the Basedata Administrator role to delete a skill.

To delete a skill:

  1. On the Sidebar, select Resource Management.
  2. Go to Basedata.
  3. From the menu on the left, select Skills.
  4. On the selected skill, go to Delete.
