Disabling Sleeping Tabs in Browsers

Table of Contents

Overview

To ensure reliable performance of KanBo in your browser, it is recommended that you disable the tab sleeping feature. This feature can pause inactive tabs and interrupt background processes, such as notifications, synchronization, and real-time updates. Add KanBo to the list of sites that should always remain active to maintain uninterrupted performance.

Microsoft Edge

See how to always keep KanBo active in Edge:

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Go to More (the three-dot menu), and select Settings.
  1. Select System and performance > Performance.
  1. In General section, in Always keep these sites active, select Add site.
  1. Enter the URL of your KanBo, and select Add.

This will prevent KanBo from disconnecting, and we recommend taking this action.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to sacrifice any other performance options, you can simply disable sleep mode for all open tabs in your browser.

  • In the same place (Performance), scroll down to Memory section, and then move the toggle to the left.

Google Chrome

See how to always keep KanBo active in Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Go to More (the three-dot menu), and select Settings.
  1. Select Performance.
  1. In General section, in Always keep these sites active, select Add.
  1. Select Add sites manually, enter the URL of your KanBo, and select Add.
