Following Cards

Learn what you need to do to keep up with all the news about a card, even if you are not a card user. By following a card, you will receive notifications of all card activities.

Pay attention to an eye icon next to the name of the card. It is a confirmation that you are following this card.

Card followers

There is an option to see who is following this card. All you need to do is a single click on the two-eyes icon in the Card users section.

Follow the card

There are two ways to follow the card. You can make it from the card level or the space level.

  1. Open the space.
  2. Enter the card you want to follow.
  3. Click on the three-dot menu button next to the name of the card.
  1. Select  Follow.

Now you will be informed about any changes with a notification.

Use Quick Actions to follow cards without entering them, or Mass Actions to follow more cards at once.

You can also start following a card from the space view level by using Quick Actions.

  1. Click on the card status icon.
  2. Click on more.
  3. Select  Follow.

Unfollow the card

You can unfollow the card the same way as follow it, both from the card and the space level. Another option is to simply click on the blue eye icon at the card view and select Unfollow.

You can also use Quick Actions instead.


You can force the user to follow the card by adding to the card as a card user and removing immediately.


Yes. Go to  My Space and select followed cards or go to Kanban view with grouping by spaces. You will see all the cards you are following segregated by spaces.

To stop receiving notifications for a specific card while still following the entire space in KanBo, click on the card menu and select Unfollow Card.

If someone is present on the card at the same moment as you, the blue flashing ring around that user’s avatar will appear. This is the card presence indicator, and you can see it in the card activity stream.

Yes. To be notified of card activities, you need to follow the card.

Yes, you don’t have to be a card user to follow the card.
