Archiving Cards

Overview

Once your card is no longer actual, you should consider archiving it. Archived cards cannot be edited, but there is no difficulty in restoring them.

Example: Archived cards are marked with gray and white diagonal stripes. 

Archived cards are available to for viewing by any space user.

Example: Archived cards can be viewed but cannot be edited.

By default, archived cards disappear from the space view to allow users to focus on their current work. However, nothing prevents you from displaying them.

Example: Archived cards can be shown or hidden in the space view.

Archived cards can be displayed in a space along with other cards. Use display settings to show archived cards.

Displaying archived cards

To display archived cards in the space view:

  1. Open the space.
  2. On the space top bar, select Settings > Card types.
  3. At the Show archived cards position, move the toggle to the right.

If you need a more advanced search, use KanBo Search and limit the search scope to your space, select cards, and “is archived” option in search filters.

Archiving cards

See how to archive the selected card.

  1. Open the space.
  2. Open the card.
  3. On the top bar, select More (the three-dot menu), and then select Archive.
  4. Confirm your decision with the Archive button.

Use Quick Actions to get it done faster or Bulk Actions to archive more cards at once.

If you use Bulk Actions on a group of cards containing mirror cards, all cards except the mirror cards will be archived.

Unarchiving cards

To unarchive a card:

  1. Open the space.
  2. Make sure that the option to display archived cards in space is enable.
  3. Find and open the archived card.
  4. On the top card bar, go to More (the three-dot menu), and then select Send to space.

FAQ

Any card member can delete cards permanently unless this option is locked by the space owner.

Only space owners can delete spaces.
