Managing Card Blockers

Card blockers are created for use by all users but only users with the appropriate accesses can manage them. Note the difference between local card blockers and global card blockers. Learn how to create card blockers and customize them to fit your company’s specific workflow.

Managing local card blockers

Change the name and description of the blocker. Remove it when it is not needed anymore.

Only space owners can edit and remove blockers in a space.

How to edit a card blocker?

  1. Open the space.
  2. Go to Space Settings.
  1. Select Blocker types.
  2. Click on the blocker you would like to edit.

You can change its name and description here.

How to remove a card blocker?

  1. Open the space.
  2. Go to Space Settings.
  3. Select Blocker types.
  4. Hover over the blocker and click on the three-dot menu button.
  5. Now select Remove.

Managing global card blockers

Global card blockers usage can be monitored from a higher level.

You need the Global Settings role to manage global card blockers.

  1. Go to  KanBo Settings.
  1. Select  Blocker types.
  2. Click on the blocker you would like to edit.

Here you can edit, remove, and create new card blockers. Any global blockers you create will be visible to all space users. On-demand blockers, like global blockers, do not appear on the space until they are added by a space owner.

FAQ

Use card blockers. It allows you to block a card and informs you about the problem with the completion of the task. 

Only space owners can create local card blockers in spaces. They can also add on-demand blockers to the space by selecting them from global card blockers.

A local blocker is created and used only within one space, while a global blocker is available at every space in KanBo.

You need the Global Settings role to manage global card blockers. Global card blockers can be edited, removed, or created in the KanBo Settings.
