Personal and Shared Space Views

Overview

There are two options for the visibility of the space view:

  • Shared space view – Visible to all space users.
  • Personal space view – Visible only to the space user who created it.

Every space user can see shared space views. Only you can see your personal space views. 

Creating your personal space view can help you focus on the tasks that are most important to you, increase your productivity, and make it easier to navigate the space. It also gives you more flexibility and control over how you interact with the space.

Saving the display settings changes as a personal space view

Sometimes you may prefer a different view from other space users. If you have made some changes to the display settings of a space view but don’t want them to overwrite the standard one, you can save them as a personal view.

This applies only to visual changes such as:

To save the changes as a new space view:

  • On the display settings notification, select Save as…, enter the name, select the Personal or Shared space view, and then select Add.

If you don’t want to create a personal view, select Save to keep the changes or Discard to reject them. If you do not take any action, the changes will not be applied.

Adding shared space views

Only space owners can create shared space views.

To create a new space view:

  1. Open the space.
  2. On the top space bar, go to the space view, and then select + Add view.
  3. Select the space view type.
  4. Enter the name, and then select Add.

Adding personal space views

To create a personal space view:

  1. Open the space.
  2. On the top space bar, go to the space view, and then select + Add view.
  3. Select the space view type.
  4. Enter the name, switch the toggle to the Personal position, and then select Add.

Now you can make visual changes to your view and work with your own settings.

Note that if you delete a card, change its status, or perform any other card action in your personal space view, it will affect the entire space.

Changing personal space views to shared space views

Only space owners can add shared space views.

To change the personal space view to the shared one:

  1. Open the space.
  2. On the top space bar, go to the space view.
  3. On the personal space view, go to More (the three-dot menu), and select  Settings.
  4. Switch the toggle to Shared position.

You can change the shared view to personal in the same way.
